3 Ways To Make Children's Book More Effective

   create your own children's book

Thinking of how to create a children's book? We have the best tips for you. In this post, you will read about the effective techniques you can add to creating a book.

Let's begin…

1. Present Tense

The default tense for almost all starting writers is this one.

The issue is that not many well-known authors make use of it. More often than not, it is the exception.

Therefore, writing in the present tense is like stamping your work with a huge stamp that reads, "I'm a Beginner! " to every agent, publisher, and reader. I'm only beginning to write!

Now you can mention your favorite book in the present tense or other well-known books written in the present tense. There is no dispute there!

Reading in the present tense doesn't bother me. I am aware of the numerous excellent books in the present tense. But published authors seldom ever do, and a disproportionately high proportion of new writers choose for it.

2. Writing Cinematically

Is it okay to write like a movie, you ask? I mean, incorporate scenes, show rather than tell, and include all the action, facial expressions, and swift speed.

Yes, in a certain sense. However, if all of your writing skills come from watching movies, you'll likely try to write a book in a movie style, which rarely turns out well.

Why not develop your book-writing skills? A publication that excels at what books do? For instance, you describe inner feelings rather than trying to describe facial emotions (which is highly cinematic).

These intensely personal and emotional feelings cannot be conveyed in a movie. A book isn't as effective at describing phrases, though.

3. Relying On Other Genres

I've engaged in countless Twitter arguments with authors between 15 and 30 who claim they don't read books.

They claim that plays, television, movies, and manga are the sources of all their story ideas.

The worst thing writers can ever do as a writer is this.

Imagine a musician who never engages in musical listening. Think of a painter who has never perused any other works of art.

We'd describe them as insane.

A whole generation of writers, however, are functionally illiterate. Someone boasted to me on Twitter yesterday that they hadn't read a book in fifteen years. They are also a writer. Take note that this is not a point to boast about.

I'll tell you right now that you should be writing plays and screenplays if you watch more television, movies, and plays than you do books.
